This 10-Day (9-Night) Adventure will focus on the most popular motorcycling destinations in Northern Portugal and Northern Spain.
The tour includes the luxury accommodations, upscale dining, and exciting group activities that have become synonymous with an Ayres Adventure. The tour price includes airport transfers, all breakfasts and most dinners (including non-alcoholic beverages). The itinerary takes place entirely on good paved roads and is ideal for a two-up getaway.
The Adventure begins as soon as you arrive at the airport in Lisbon, Portugal where our tour leaders will meet your flight and accompany you to our 5-star accommodations in the charming seaside resort of Cascais. Your luggage (as well as non-riding companions) will be transported in our spacious support vehicle. The departure city will be Lisbon, Portugal.

Day 1: Arrival in Lisbon, airport transfer to Cascais - one of the most beatiful beach resorts in Europe. Motorcycle handover, kickoff meeting and our first dinner together. Riders arriving one or two days early are advised to plan a tour to Lisbon and/or Sintra (Unesco World Heritage site)

Day 2: Cascais Belmonte (~380 km, 235 miles). We begin with a ride to Cabo da Roca (western most point in Europe) and then towards the beautiful city of Lisbon where we cross the Tagus River. As we leave the city behind the roads become much less crowded and the landscape changes into a rural environment as we keep riding north towards Belmonte.

Day 3: Belmonte to Puebla de Sanabria (~400 km, 250 miles). In the morning we ride through the twisty mountain roads of Serra da Estrela National Park, where the highest point in mainland Portugal is located. We keep riding North towards the Spanish border and on the way we will visit the medieval towns of Sortelha and Almeida. A lot of tight turns to enjoy as we ride along the Douro River region.

Day 4: Puebla de Sanabria to Cangas de Oniz (~300 km, 190 miles). Today we enter and cross the Picos da Europa National park located in the historical Asturias region in Spain. Many riders consider this area as a riding paradise even comparing it with the Swiss Alps.
Highlights: Roads and stunning views of Picos da Europa National Park.

Day 5: Cangas de Oniz to Santiago de Compostela (~390 km, 240 miles). Leaving Cangas de Oniz we keep riding north all the way to the Cantabria Sea, where we will stop at the picturesque fisherman’s village of Cudillero for a coffee and to take some nice pictures. From this point we start riding southwest to Santiago.

Day 6: Santiago de Compostela to Porto (~314 km, 195 miles). From Santiago we start riding south back to Portugal taking the mountain road that passes through Peneda Gerês National Park taking the beautiful and empty twisty back roads. We will arrive in Porto in the middle of the afternoon which will allow you some time to relax at the hotel or start exploring the magical city of Porto.

Day 7: Free day in Porto
Highlights: Included optional activities (Boat ride in the Douro River and visit to a Port Wine seller)

Day 8: Porto to Buçaco (~180 km, 112 miles). In the morning we ride east along the Douro River shore and get into the hills once again to enjoy more endless curves on a road with almost no traffic. We will pass through some of the most remote and isolated villages in the country.

Day 9: Buçaco to Lisbon ( ~ 270 km, 170 miles). The final day of this adventure will take us back to Lisbon from where you will fly back home. Depending on the weather conditions there are two alternative routes that we can take from Buçaco. One is going through the hills of Serra da Lousã and other is the coastal route passing through Óbidos, Ericeira and Sintra. The final dinner will be at a Fado dinner show in Lisbon.
