The 12-DAy High Andes Adventure is our first "Discovery Adventure" and includes many of South America's highest and most exciting passes.
The itinerary includes:
- Arrival and departure in San Miguel de Tucumán - Argentina's fifth largest city, nicknamed "The Garden of the Republic"
- Mendoza - The wine capital of Argentina - located near Cerro Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere
- A rest day in Chile's famous beach destination of Vina del Mar
- Paso de San Francisco - one of the major passes in the Andes, reaching an altitude of more than 15,500 feet!
With this "Discovery Advetnture" we'll generally use the best accommodations available, but for some parts of the itinerary available accommodations may be below our usual premium standards.
Roads are mostly paved, with about 250 KM of gravel. Optional routes with much more gravel are also available. |
