The Iron Butt Association is dedicated to safe, long-distance endurance motorcycle riding. The organization is based in the United States but has more than 34,000 members worldwide. One of the organization's more popular slogans is "The World is Our Playground". The entry-level requirement for membership in the IBA is a documented 1,000 mile ride in 24 hours or less. Although the Premium Guided Motorcycle Tours offered by Ayres Adventures are leisurely trips that are characterized by modest daily mileage and premium level meals and accommodations, we also offer private trips to clubs and special interest groups. We regularly offer special Iron Butt Association trips that are designed to appeal to the very special interests of riders preferring much longer daily rides. Although designated as "Iron Butt Association Tours" these are not private trips - they are available to experienced riders who enjoy longer riding days in the company of like-minded long-distance enthusiasts.

Our IBA trips are NOT intended for most riders, so we insist that riders understand the more intense and demanding nature of these very special trips.

Our IBA trips are typically hosted by Mike Kneebone (president of the Iron Butt Association) and me (IBA Member #78).

Our IBA tours include the opportunity to earn an Iron Butt Certificate for completing a 1,000-mile daily ride (or some other noteworthy riding achievement) in an interesting global motorcycling destination. Ayres Adventures previously sponsored such an event in Africa and is currently offering a special IBA Ushuaia trip in South America in 2010. Several Alps trips are also planned for September, 2010. These rides will feature riding between 15 and 20 popular Alpine passes in a day - more passes than any tour company incorporates into an Alps tour. Information regarding the Alps Tours for 2010 will be posted in the next few months.
