What a privilege to wake up in the bush with the sounds of birds and also baboons making a racket outside your room. We were ready by 05h30 for the morning game drive and after coffee and rusks we set out.
African Sunrise
Early morning game drive
We were lucky enough to see a breeding herd of elephant and also saw one female charging the vehicle. Luckily our guides are very experienced and know the herd well. Some experiences just can’t be bought.
Coffee stop and the site of some bokdrol spitting
After a magnificent breakfast, our lunch and dinner orders were taken, we were spoiled ! At 15h30 we left for the evening game drive and after viewing numerous animals we ended the day with a cheetah and cubs sighting.
Seeing the sun set in Africa is just special.
We were treated at the boma to a wonderful dinner and dancing and looked forward to getting back on the bikes again today.
Driving out to the main gate we saw our number 3 of the Big 5, Cape Buffalo, and my personal favourite, Sable Antelopes.
The ride today took us into Botswana and an easy border crossing except for the 37 deg C, which drained the energy levels.
Tonight we stay close to Palapye and tomorrow we head further North to the beautiful Nata lodge.
