Our first coffee stop was in a small farming town where we enjoyed good strong coffee and homemade pie. Coffee in Australia is particularly strong and had us all fired up for the next part of our ride.
After coffee we left the farmlands behind and rode through miles and miles of twisty roads weaving their way through endless eucalyptus forests. This was one of my biggest surprises with Australia, the amount of endless eucalyptus forests, all of which offered spectacular riding on perfect roads for motorcycling.
Coming out of the forrest we were rewarded with absolutely spectacular views of the coast, soft white sand beaches and beautiful crystal clear waves rolling on to the beach. It felt great to be back on the coast and that is where we stayed for the rest of the day – riding along the coast and enjoying the beautiful beachfront views. We stopped for lunch at a small marina and watched the boats bobbing in the calm water while enjoying what the restaurant called ‘Australia’s greatest seafood’!
It was a short ride from lunch to our charming little hotel run a by a couple that had moved to Australia 20 years ago. That night we enjoyed a wonderful tapas style dinner and celebrated one of our riders birthday. Another great day in Australia!
