October 8 – 21, 2016
Join us on our virtual tour of Call of the Wild Adventure 2016. The motorcycle tour in Africa Call of the Wild Adventure is the second component of our African Trilogy with the greatest focus on observing Africa’s wildlife. This is the only African motorcycle tour that combines motorcycle touring with luxury game lodges to offer an “in-depth” experience with the continent’s incredible wildlife.
Travel with us from Sandton, South Africa (suburban Johannesburg) through Botswana and Namibia, Victoria Falls in Zambia to Namibia’s capital city of Windhoek.
Days 1, 2 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
The start of a new tour always brings excitement. New faces, new personalities, new riding styles and new places to experience. The motorbikes were handed over and we could barely restrain our group not to take the bikes out for a ride immediately.
Days 3, 4 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
What a privilege to wake up in the bush with the sounds of birds and also baboons making a racket outside your room. We were ready by 05h30 for the morning game drive and after coffee and rusks we set out.
Day 5 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
Today we continued North in Botswana from Palapye towards Nata. We had about 340 km to go and decided to start early to avoid riding in the heat.
Day 6 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
One of the best things of sleeping over at Nata Lodge must be the sounds of all the birds waking you in the morning.
Day 7 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
Today we had an "off" day, opting to travel the 70km to Victoria Falls, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Day 8 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
440km, 8 motorcycles, one back-up vehicle, 12 people, one border crossing!
Days 9 & 10- Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
A boat cruise on the Okavango River with sightings of hippos and other wildlife, a 630km ride, and some sand practice.
Day 11 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
Two off the bikes day in the Etosha game reserve. How lucky can one be?
Day 12 – Call of the Wild Motorcycle Tour
We set off early again to search for that elusive leopard.
