Some days you ride in front, responsible for your clients and some days you drive the backup vehicle providing any necessary logistical support.
Today was my day in the backup truck. After leaving Kampala, we travelled further on our journey around Lake Victoria. The first stop was the crossing of the Equator to the Southern Hemisphere. A nice coffee stop and some great photo opportunities.

We enjoyed the Ugandan countryside with rolling hills, and busy little villages and towns. Along the road you see many of the local big horn cattle, still used as a sign of wealth and used for dowry.
We had lunch at the Igonga cultural sight before doing the last 100 miles on beautiful new roads. A far cry from the old potholed ridden roads.
We reached the lodge overlooking Lake Bunyoni in time for a sundowner and a dinner with a beautiful view.
Tomorrow we cross into Rwanda. A border crossing in Africa is like a lucky packet. You just never know what you will experience.
