440km, 8 motorcycles, one back-up vehicle, 12 people, one border crossing!
Sounds like a mouthfull and it is. We started the first 60km passing through the Chobe National park. Saw some more elephants, you just don’t get tired of watching these gentle giants.

You turn your back of a second….

…and the elephants sneak across the road behind you.

First view of Namibia

Beautiful Boabab

Leaving Botswana was easy, but the Namibia border post had some power issues and all the road permits for the vehicles were written by hand… and there’s no hurry in Africa.

The temperature quickly rose and we saw 40 degrees Celsius for long periods at a time. The group rode well and hydrated at every stop we made.
Yes… a good 40 deg Celsius

Gail L Brinson: “This is what 106 looks like. But it’s a dry heat!!!”

Bit of a dust devil

Posing kids… always smiling

Hitching a ride to avoid the thick sand

We stopped just after 4pm at Divava lodge, overlooking the Okavango river which ultimately creates the Okavango delta in Botswana.

Tomorrow we have some time to relax, pamper the bodies with massages or next to the pool, some tiger fishing and another evening cruise on the river.
