After a super-calm night we were ready for today’s great riding! 37 miles of twisties took us to the coast and the “Bridge of Heaven” – that’s how “Amanohashidate” translates. A 2-mile long sand bank with pine trees that stretches across a bay. Bending over and looking at it through your legs, it appears like suspended in the air…
The express way brought us around some busy regions and what followed after lunch was the most scenic ride along the coast! The sun came out, and together with the cherry trees, this afternoon was a feast for the eyes and every rider’s delight.
Awara, our destination today, is famous for its Onsens (hot spas) and for our delicious dinner we all showed up in our “Yukkatas”.
