Here we are in the land of the rising sun!
All of the group members arrived a day or so before the start of the tour to enjoy one of Japan’s most beautiful and historical cities, Kyoto. The Cherry Trees are in full blossom and the temples, shrines, parks and ancient buildings are more than impressive! We met in the afternoon for the bike handover and the welcome briefing, before we enjoying today’s highlight: a Teppanyaki dinner at a wonderful five star restaurant. A feast for the eyes, this dinner (where two chefs were preparing veggies, meat and seafood right in front of us) was a great way to get to know everyone and a wonderful start to the tour.
Tomorrow we will head out for our first day of riding in this special and beautiful country.
