Oban is the perfect place for a two night stop as the town is very scenic and has a lot to offer visitors. Our riders took off in various directions and enjoyed sight seeing trips, boat trips and of course many finished their afternoon off with a tour around the Oban distillery before heading out to dinner at one of the local restaurants.
This morning Scotland lived up to its rainy reputation with high winds and pouring rain greeting the riders and the bikes as they set out of Oban. Whilst several parts of the day included rain and some strong winds, it was dry for the majority of the day and turned out to be an incredible days riding with absolutely stunning scenery.
Claus told the group that there was an option to shorten the days ride considering the weather at that time but this group were not giving in to a little wind and rain, so off they went for the for full days ride. Of course it paid off by ending up being a stunning day all in.
A quick photoshop at Fort Augustus where we got to see the Calednoian Canal through through which the water flows that connects Loch Oich to Loch Ness.
We enjoyed a lunch break at the 13th century Eilean Donan castle where part of Highlander was filmed. Stunning castle and a great lunch! :)
A few picture stops along the way and several miles of very narrow single track riding made this another stunning riding day on our Scotland – Castles, Kilts and Whisky motorcycle tour.
