This Adventure is designed for riders who are looking for something incredibly special. The tour begins in Tromsø, the “Paris of the North”, and takes riders on an incredible ride from Nordkapp (further north than Prudhoe Bay, Alaska), all the way south to the spectacular fjords and mountains of southern Norway, ending in the country’s capital, Oslo.
This unique Adventure will take you through Norway’s breathtaking landscapes, letting you savor its pristine beauty. Ride on the endless roads through its uninhabited wilderness enjoying 24 hours of daylight. There is no other “North Cape” tour that will let you better experience Norway.
Join us in conquering the North Cape by motorcycle! Ride along the Norwegian fjord— dotted coastline, the Lofoten Islands, and the never-ending plains of Lapland.
This tour is about challenging and experiencing Mother Nature with all its facets while riding the roads that will lead you to where Europe ends—the North Cape and the land of the midnight sun.

AT A GLANCE YOUR NORWEGIAN MIDNIGHT SUN ADVENTURE
DAY 1 – ARRIVE TROMSØ
The tour leaders will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel where you can spend the day relaxing or exploring the city of Tromsø.
Later in the afternoon, the tour leaders will hand over the bikes before hosting a group briefing providing more detailed information about the tour. After the briefing, we will enjoy our first dinner together at a wonderful local restaurant.
Those opting to arrive a day or so early to adjust to the time zone change can choose from some attractions, including visiting the northernmost brewery, a cable car up to the mountain or a simple walk in town.
DAY 2 – TROMSØ TO ALTA ~250 MILES
Enjoy a scenic, twisty ride south along the main roads, passing seven fjords and taking in spectacular views of the Lyngen Alps. You’ll arrive in Alta, where a comfortable hotel and restaurant await. This is the perfect starting point for tomorrow’s ride to the North Cape!
DAY 3 – ALTA TO NORTH CAPE TO KARASJOK ~320 MILES
Today is the day! An early start will ensure that you have enough time for “the” destination of your trip. It’s a long ride to the northernmost point in Europe by motorcycle. There is a chance of strong wind and adverse weather adding to today’s Adventure. Fear not, it will further heighten the excitement of getting to the North Cape.
Once you are at the North Cape, you will have time to take plenty of pictures as well as visit the North Cape Museum.
Leaving the North Cape to the south, you will backtrack about 50 miles and then continue to Karasjok, home to the parliament of the Sami people. After a long riding day, there’s now the time to have a beer—North Cape can be ticked off your bucket list!
DAY 4 – KARASJOK TO NORDKJOSBOTN ~290 MILES
Today you will ride through northern Finland! The region is called Lapland and the Finnish part of it contains the highest percentage of Sami, the original population.
The scenery changes to wide open and forested plains with countless lakes. We’ll cross back into Norway in the afternoon and return to the coast. Nordkjosbotn is a village at the crossroads of the northbound E6, the road to Tromsø (only 40 miles away), and the inland-bound route that you will take tomorrow.
DAY 5 – NORDKJOSBOTN TO ANDENES ~250 MILES
We’ll start the day riding south on the E6 main road; optional loops bring you to waterfalls and scenic backcountry places. Crossing over a huge bridge will bring you to the Vesteralen Islands and their northernmost city Andenes, where we can go for an optional whale watching tour tomorrow. Weather permitting, this is also the best spot to see the Midnight Sun.
DAY 6 – ANDENES TO SVOLVAER ~140 MILES
After an optional whale safari in the morning, you leave the Vesteralen Islands behind and ride to the neighboring Lofoten Islands. The scenery will become more and more spectacular; Svolvaer, the capital of the Lofoten, is a perfect place to explore these famous islands.
DAY 7 – FREE DAY IN SVOLVAER
On the free day, there is the option to go for a loop ride along the seashore!
Those who want a day off the bike may visit the Viking Museum or the Lofoten Museum. Other options include going for a walk along the harbor in Svolvaer or a sunset cruise.
DAY 8 – SVOLVAER TO BODØ~90 MILES
In the morning you will go for a wonderful ride enjoying the spectacular scenery and make your way through colorful fishing villages, white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear water to the ferry that brings you to Bodø in the afternoon.
DAY 9 – BODØ TO SANDNESSJOEN ~230 MILES
Welcome to northern Norway mainland again. Leaving Bodø, you will witness the Saltstraumen Maelstrom, one of the planet’s strongest sea currents! A wonderful twisty mountain road is the beginning of today’s scenic inland ride through the glacier-carved mountains.
Upon crossing the Arctic Circle, you will leave the “Land of the Midnight Sun.” Continuing south we’re heading for the coastal city of Sandnessjoen.
DAY 10 – SANDNESSJOEN TO NAMSOS ~170 MILES
Continuing along the Norwegian coast, you will enjoy three short ferry rides as you cross several fjords. The short ferry rides will offer a welcome break from the bikes and provide time to enjoy the surrounding beauty of Norway. Your destination today is Namsos, a small city with an interesting but sad history.
DAY 11 – NAMSOS TO TRONDHEIM ~200 MILES
Today you will enjoy a more relaxed ride as you make your way along the Norwegian coastline and through rural countryside.
About 20 miles before the hotel, you will take a short ferry ride to avoid the traffic on the main road. On the way to the hotel, you will get to experience a ride around a traffic circle in a tunnel! Your destination, Trondheim, is a historic city and is home to the Gothic Nidaros Cathedral, which dates back to the 11th century. An early arrival into Trondheim will allow time to walk around and enjoy the sites of the city.
DAY 12 – TRONDHEIM TO ALESUND ~270 MILES
Today you’ll enjoy a scenic ride through central Norway, spiced up with a detour across Norway’s most famous pass road, Trollstigen! Be prepared for a roller-coaster ride while surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery Norway has to offer. Today you will end up in the small Art Nouveau-style city of Alesund.
DAY 13 – FREE DAY IN ALESUND
For those who wish to do some more riding, the tour leaders will arrange a loop ride to include the famous “Atlantic Road” as well as a ride along the breathtaking twisty roads around spectacular fjords and mountainous backcountry before heading back to Alesund.
For those who prefer a more relaxed day, there will be plenty to do and see within walking distance of the hotel. Enjoy exploring the Art Nouveau city of Alesund and the small boutique shops in and around the city.
DAY 14 – ALESUND TO GUDVANGEN ~250 MILES
A beautiful day of riding lies ahead as you will take a ferry ride along the “world’s most beautiful fjord,” which will allow you to admire the stunning scenery. Later in the day you ride through the glacier-covered Jostedalsbreen National Park. You’ll enjoy pure riding pleasure on twisty mountain roads and along fjords. Today’s destination is in the middle of one of Norway’s most spectacular landscapes at the Naeroyfjord, a sidearm of the Sognefjord, the deepest and longest fjord in Norway.
DAY 15 – GUDVANGEN TO OSLO ~230 MILES
The last day of riding is a trip through spectacular mountain scenery into Norway’s past and fairy tale landscapes. The twisty roads through the Numedal Valley will lead us along numerous ancient farm buildings and typical centuries-old stave churches before we arrive at our final destination, Oslo, the capital of Norway. Let’s get ready to celebrate our accomplished Adventure!
DAY 16 – DEPARTURE FROM OSLO
After a relaxing breakfast, the tour leaders will arrange your transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Road Conditions
The route is entirely paved, with a variety of features that include numerous twisty stretches of beautiful roads mostly easy to manage with little traffic. Some sections (~10%–15%) are technically more challenging, but there are also long daily distances with straight roads.

I just completed the 2026 Norwegian Midnight Sun (North to South) tour with Ayres Adventures, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Starting high up in Tromsø and riding south completely enriched how I experienced Norway's changing landscapes.
I rode the new BMW R1300GS, and it proved to be the absolute perfect bike for this journey—delivering flawless power, comfort, and handling on every twisty road and coastal highway. Conquering the North Cape—riding 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle where the sun literally never sets—was a memory of a lifetime. From the remote, vast plains of Finnish Lapland down through the jagged peaks of the Lofoten Islands, the route selected by Ayres was a dream for any motorcyclist.
What truly made this trip world-class was our two tour guides, Claus and Frank. Both were engaging, professional, and outstanding throughout the tour. Their thorough route knowledge, logistics management, and infectious enthusiasm kept the energy high every day. I consider this the most beautiful scenic tour I've ever been on
The Norwegian Midnight Adventure was awesome! The scenery was simply amazing from start to finish. Personally, I consider this the most beautiful scenic tour I've ever been on. For those who have not been in the western part of Norway, I highly recommend this tour. It has it all: snow-covered mountains, spectacular fjords, waterfalls, miles of rock tunnels, quaint little villages, and more "twisties" than you'll ever experience. Not to mention riding to the northernmost point in all of Europe, Nordkapp (North Cape), located 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Furthermore, the hotels and local cuisine were exceptional. Our tour leaders (Claus and Jason) were outstanding and worked very hard to make sure the group had a wonderful and memorable experience. They succeeded. As usual on Ayres Adventures, it was a pleasure meeting and getting to know the tour group. They were all very pleasant, with varied backgrounds, and I hope to be able to ride with anyone of them again on another Ayres Adventure one day. Norway is the most beautiful country I have ever ridden a bike in. It is a combination of Chile and Argentina, New Zealand, Ireland, but scenery wise better than the four of them combined.
It is one scenic beauty after another. You never knew what the scenery was gonna look like around the next corner or when you came out the next tunnel. And the North Cape is pretty spectacular when you consider where you are at that moment.
I will do this tour again, with better raingear.

It was by far the greatest ride I have ever been on
I am 75 years old and have been riding motorcycles for over 60 years. I have ridden all over North America but this year I opted to join Ayres Adventures on their Norwegian Midnight Sun Tour. It was by far the greatest ride I have ever been on thanks to our tour leaders Claus Lazik and Jason Killian. For 16 days we travelled from Oslo, Norway to the North Cape on roads that were absolutely perfect for motorcycles. The scenery was beyond beautiful with awesome views of Norway. Claus and Jason have a wonderful grasp of the history and interesting places to visit that they shared along the way. What is so great about Ayres Adventures? I just had to show up. The bikes were in great shape, the hotels and cabins we stayed in were terrific and the meals were all very good and often reflected the local culture. I will be joining Ayres in May for the Barcelona to Lisbon Adventure and plan on many more adventures with then in the coming years.

Started thinking about our next Ayres Adventure long before this one ended
This was our first Ayres Adventure, and the Norwegian Midnight Sun tour was really a trip of a life time. The scenery is spectacular, and the routes chosen really show the country at its best. Claus & Axel are terrific at explaining where we were riding, what we'd see, and making sure we had a great time. The pace was just right, with nice breaks for lunch & coffee, and the hotels and dinners were uniformly excellent. If I have to pick one word, it's "professionalism"!
I guess after six trips with the gang from Ayres, I should write something about why I keep coming back for yet another tour. If I have to pick one word, it's "professionalism". Although they make each day look easy in terms of getting from point A to point B, on reflection it becomes so apparent that each route is well thought out and chosen for specific reasons, whether it be the scenery, road conditions, or degree of difficulty. It all seems to work so seamlessly which allows the rider to focus on the ride and his or her surroundings. Whether it's Claus or John or Axel, you know that one of them has your back, especially when you tackle a road that a month ago was paved but is now a mess and foot deep in mud or the road is closed and the detour a real challenge. And finally, at the end of the day, they're a hell of a lot of fun to have a drink with! In the final analysis, it makes for pretty much a perfect vacation.

Thank you again for another wonderful tour! We always wanted to go to the North Cape, with all the planning you did for us, you made this trip a great experience. You found nice twisties with spectacular views, stunning landscapes and outrageous bridges from one island to another, which made our hearts beat faster.
Our tour leaders had a lot of inside information on special routes, which were not crowded at all. GREAT RIDING!

We are happy to book any of our motorcycle tour as a private tour. For most tours, we require a minimum of 8 bikes, or 12 participants (riders plus co-riders). We can provide a private motorcycle tour for smaller groups, but a surcharge may apply. We can also customize any of our regular tours for a private group.
