We (our Kiwi team) have enjoyed several tours with Ayres Adventures over the years. It’s always an easy decision to travel with them again, especially when we can choose destinations and timing that suit us all.
After speaking with Jason Kilian and John Jesson about doing a private tour in South Africa, John suggested that we start in Victoria Falls and head south to Cape Town. This turned out to be a great decision, and one we all thoroughly enjoyed. Finishing in Cape Town was just so cool!
Jason’s passion, history, and knowledge of South Africa is incredibly rewarding and made every stop of huge interest to us all. He’s an amazing tour leader. The roads were outstanding, with beautiful mountain views, and riding through farming areas was of great interest to all of us (as farmers in New Zealand). The people we met and stayed with added great value to the tour and were very caring and hospitable.
Having John along on our tour was a huge privilege. His passion for continuing Ron Ayres’ legacy and maintaining Ayres Adventures’ high standards of guides, accommodations, bikes, and itineraries was clear throughout the trip. He and Jason both enjoyed our Kiwi humor, banter, and company, just as much as we enjoyed theirs. He’s a great guy!
We will 100% be organizing another tour with Ayres Adventures again shortly and would totally recommend you do the same!
