At a Glance Your Scotland – Castles, Kilts and Whisky Tour

Welcome to Scotland. Today is the official arrival day for the tour. The tour leaders will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel located in the center of Edinburgh. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the day to explore this historical city. In the afternoon we will have our kick off briefing as well as the first group dinner of the tour.

First riding of the tour takes us out of Edinburgh and straight onto the small quite country roads that offer some exciting riding as well as spectacular scenery, this is a great first days riding. During the days ride we will cross the ‘border’ into England and spend the night in a historical castle on the English side of the border.

Todays riding will take us along the coast of South West Scotland through several small fishing villages. We will stop in New Abbey for some great pictures of the ruins of the old Abbey found in the middle of this sleepy little town.

Shortly after riding north of Glasgow we will ride along the banks of beautiful Loch Lomond where we will stop for a few picture opportunities before riding through Argyll National Park and along Rest and Be Thankful, an incredibly beautiful ride all the way through to Oban where we will spend two nights.
Today is a free day during the tour. Oban is a great small resort town which is popular with locals as well as international travellers. We spend two nights in Oban as it offers so many activities, including a whisky tour, ferry trips to the Isle of Mull as well as numerous other activates.
One of the longest days of the tour takes us up north to Ullapool via Fort William where we should get to see Ben Nevis before stopping on the banks of Loch Ness. Continuing with some great riding we will take a lot of small back roads all the way through to Ullapool. The riding is regarded as the best roads in Scotland.

Continuing along Scotland’s greatest motorcycle roads, todays ride takes us through Durenss and Tongue before we get to Thurso. Todays riding is probably the most scenic and twisty roads of the tour that offers breathtaking views of the white sandy beaches found along the Scottish coast. Todays riding will be through the very remote Scottish Highlands.

Heading North, as far north as we can go, we will stop for a picture at Dunnet Head, the most northerly tip of Great Britain before we head to John ‘O Groats, the famous starting point for Charlie Boorman and Ewan Mc Gregor on there ‘Long Way Down’ tour. Heading South from John ‘O Groats, we will spend the night in Inverness

More great riding today as we ride more of what is regarded as the best motorcycling toads in Scotland as we ride through Cairngorms National Park, cross the river Spey (The River Spey is the water source for many of Scotland’s whisky distilleries) Tonight we will stay in St Andrews, most famously known for its golf course and university, but its also a great little town to walk around and explore the ruins of the ancient cathedral found in the city.

Although this is the last riding day of the tour, we will stop at some great sights before heading into Edinburgh. Today we will ride back to Edinburgh where we will enjoy our final group dinner after a great tour.

Today is the official departure day from Edinburgh, the tour leaders will arrange your transfers to the airport if your flight is today.
