Cloudless sky, great roads, amazing scenery and culture – what else do you want?
We left Hiroshima with the best impression: a friendly town with friendly people! Our ride took us to Honshu’s north coast; we stopped at Dangyokei Canyon and enjoyed the sweepers through the mountains. At the North coast we stopped for lunch at the scenic Cape Hinomisaki with a great view towards the Japanese Sea.
10 km (6 miles) further we were impressed by Izumo Shrine, the oldest and one of the biggest shrines in Japan.
Another 20 minutes later we were delighted by Japanese hospitality: we stopped by one of Mr. Kawakado’s motorcycle shops and admired the collection of vintage bikes there, having tea and sweeties.
After our arrival in the hotel in Matsue, we enjoyed the “Onsen”, the hot spa of our lodging – a relaxing time in hot water with a splendid view to the lake and looking forward to another great dinner. This is Japan from its best side…
