6am, we were in the game drive vehicles and ready for a full day’s game viewing in the Serengeti.
Setting out before sunrise
The huge outstretched plains awaited as we saw the sunrise over the huge expanse.
As we stopped for breakfast on a rocky outcrop, we climbed from the vehicles… and we scared away two lions giving us a bit of an adrenaline rush.
We were extremely lucky with many animals close to our vehicles, and the only one of the Big 5 still eluding us, is the Black Rhino. Hopefully we will spot one tomorrow as we descend into the Ngorongoro crater.

Counted 118… give or take.
Yes..its a bit too colourful… but life can be so dull.
We arrived back at the lodge after 11,5 hours of game viewing. And what a day it was. Some of the animals sighted were: Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Giraffe, Hippo ( 118 in the biggest pod), zebra, Wildebeest, Topi, Coke Hartebeest, Dik-Dik, Vultures, Crocodile and many more.
What a privilege to experience the Serengeti. Put this on your bucket list.
